Local is lekker at Louisvale

Louisvale gets vocal about local

With the everchanging rules and regulations announced by government, one never knows what the future will hold, but what is for certain is that we need to rally together and support our fellow South Africans.

Louisvale wine farm is urging locals to support local, shop local and promote local in a bid to help suppliers of local products to stay relevant and stay in business. By supporting local brands, they believe they can help keep favourite local products on the shelves.

Louisvale is offering the butcher, the baker and the candlestick-maker, among others, a space to showcase their wares by allocating them shelf space in the farm’s deli.

The deli was started in 2019 and today carries Louisvale’s very own home-made rusks and jams and delicious frozen meals created by executive Chef, Kirstie du Toit and products from local suppliers in the Western Cape.

Other items on the menu include pickles, olives, confectionaries, hand-made soaps and many other locally produced items – and they are welcoming more.

Some of the local products being stocked at the Louisvale deli include:

Darling Toffee’s

Darling Sweet came into existence when Frits van Ryneveld and Hentie van der Merwe met in September 2013 and decided to start handcrafting toffee in Darling, and the rest is history.

Ma Mere

The candy-loving confectionary offers a collection of gourmet, nougat, fudges, macarons, brittles, marshmallows and Turkis delights.  All outrageously delicious.

 Rose & Bos (Charcoal soap)
