MKR SA set to thrill in new season

Table set for brand new season of My Kitchen Rules

It’s time for cooking to come home again! The fourth season of My Kitchen Rules South Africa ignited last week at 18:00 on M-Net Channel 101. The seasoned judges David Higgs and J’Something make their return on the heated fourth season where teams are hunting for flavour, fun – and R1 million.

Last week we met the first group of contestants as father and son-in-law Eddie and Martin welcomed judges David Higgs and J’Something and the first four pairs of home cooks (Azraa and Waven, Jessica and Nicole., Larcé and Jabu and Mark and Mbali) into Martin’s home in the Swartland. Martin and Eddie’s feast is based on fire – will the contestants find it too hot to handle or will the duo burn their fingers?

Episode 1 proved the contestants will have to bring it on to earn the title and the prize money. It’s a battle to bring out the best in balance, flavours, presentation, finesse and taste in a home cooked meal. It was game on as the contestants arrived for their first meal at Martin’s home in the Swartland. Judging started the moment the contestants walked in.

“Now it feels real. It’s game on.” -Azraa-

Eddie and Martin impressed the judges with their menu and with the fish as main course. Knowing that they have to set the bar, this duo of amateur cooks had to pull work for earing their points from the tuff critics at their table where they set the stage for the first round of this year’s ‘My Kitchen Rules’. They ended the episode with a underscored starter, compliments and the main and some negative feedback on the dessert, leaving them with an overall score of 27 out of 40 from the contestants and 69 out of 100 from the judges.

In next week’s episode contestants will dine at the home of Azraa and Waven. Will they stand the heat from the contestants and judges?

This season’s 10 pairs of home cooks will steam and cook it till 11 December, where one of the 10 pairs will walk away with R1 million!
