Heelwat prestasies en hoogtepunte was die afgelope tyd aan die orde van die dag by Paul Roos Gimnasium. Hier is ’n opsomming van hiedie gebeure:
Soccer
The PRG first soccer team received their official 2024 match kit this week. The event was hosted by title sponsor Raats Family Wines.
Redenaars: Podiumpret-redenaarskompetisie
PRG het vanjaar 11 Afrikaansredenaars gehad wat aan Podiumpret se semifinaal in die Paarl deelgeneem het. Vier senior- en ses junior-redenaars het tydens hierdie ronde 80% of hoër behaal. Die volgende leerders het 90% of hoër behaal: Ian Lubbe (11A2) – 95,45%, Reuben de Wit (11E1), – 92,73%, Retief Ferreira (8A5) – 94,55%, Lian Winckler (8A2) – 90,91% en Charl de Wet (8E1) – 90%.
Blood donation
PRG pupils made a difference recently by participating in the SANBS blood drive.
Science
Congratulations to Rohan van Loggerenberg and Steffan Thielen who won gold with their research project, “Optimisation of Artificial Neural Network training” at the Beijing Eskom Expo competition.
Athletics
Congratulations to Luke van der Merwe on being crowned the SA Schools’ Champion for boys u19 high jump!
Reebok
PRG recently had the opportunity to announce their partnership with Reebok South Africa with the launch of their brand-new Nano X4 training shoe. PRG rugby players, Bloemhof’s netball girls and other industry professionals, put these remarkable shoes to the test at the newly established PRG High Performance Centre. A big shout-out to everyone involved and especially to Reebok, who sponsored shoes. Hockey kit
PRG’s first team hockey recently unveiled their new playing kit in a special capping ceremony. Old Boy and ex-national player, Eric Rose-Innes (1999), was the guest of honour and handed over the shirts to the players. Thank you to our sponsors 10X Investments who were part of the evening.
Afrikaans
Juffrou Anna-Marie Voges het onlangs haar graad 11 Afrikaans Eerste Addisionele Taal-leerders na Rhenish geneem vir ‘n “ken mekaar beter”-skakel. So kon hulle ‘n bietjie in die teenwoordigheid van die teenoorgestelde geslag oefen om beter Afrikaans te praat. Dankie ook aan die spesiale dames van Rhenish wat die PRG-seuns met ope arms ontvang het. .
Shoe’s
SHOE-SHINING : PRG Grade 8’s recently shined the shoes of their mentors in the Braid Avenue. This is so much more than just polish: it symbolises the Paul Roos values, culture, respect, and brotherhood. This is one of PRG’s most valued traditions.
Rugby
PRG Rugby: The PRG rugby first team received their 2024 launch jersey recently. During this event, their parents were present, and the pride, excitement, and honour were clearly visible as they donned the famous PRG maroon kit.
